Peyton Hayslip received her training as an actress a the Juilliard School in NYC, the Dallas Theater Center, and the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain. In Austin, she has performed with numerous theater companies. Some of her performances locally include: Gabrielle and Maud in A Name for a Ghost to Mutter (State Theater Co.), Judith in Bingo (Public Domain), Liz in Fruits and Vegetables (Different Stages), Ruth in Blithe Spirit, Sally Talley in Talley�s Folly (Onstage Theatre Co.), Titania in A Midsummer Night�s Dream, and Closier in Degas� Little Dancer (Zachary Scott Theater Project InterAct). Peyton has been lauded as one of the Top 40 MVP�s (Most Valuable Players) in Austin (Austin Chronicle), and has received numerous commendations for her work as an actress, including the B. Iden Payne Award for Outstanding Actress in a Play for Youth (Degas� Little Dancer). Most recently, Ms. Hayslip has enjoyed touring her one-woman show, Kate James: Portrait of a Texas Pioneer, to schools and special events around Central Texas. The play, which she also wrote, is based on the journals, diaries and scrapbooks of her great-great-great grandmother who settled in Texas, at the age of 4, in 1855. She has also recorded portions of Kate�s journals for historic preservation in the Landmark Museum in Garland, Texas. Peyton and her husband, Carl Anderson, are the founders of thistlemouse productions, (www.thistlemouse.com) which produces plays and performances for children and families. When she is not acting, or writing, Peyton also teaches at and is the Associate Director of the State Theater School of Acting. In addition to her husband, Carl, Peyton is blessed with two beautiful daughters, Kitty and Tiger, and a little dog (who�s sure she�s a human), Widget.
