Valerie Redd came to Austin from Nacogdoches, Texas in 2001 to attend St. Edward’s University where she is now a senior, pursuing a B.A in Theatre (acting emphasis), and a member of the Actors’ Equity Membership Candidate Program. In her time at St. Edward’s Mary Moody Northen Theatre she has been seen as an ensemble performer in Romeo and Juliet*, Playing for Time*, and The Medea Stories* (an adaptation created in collaboration with members if the SITI Company). She also appeared as Ann in All My Sons* (Austin Critic’s Table nomination), Cassandra in The House* (an original play created in collaboration with members of the SITI Company), Alice in You Can't Take It With You*, and Eurydice and others in Mary Zimmerman’s Metamorphoses*. When Valerie is not acting she is probably stage managing, and her credits include: One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest*, The Ladee Leroy Show, and The Kentucky Cycle*, as well as the dirigo group’s The Middle of the Night. She is soon to be seen as Titania in the Mary Moody Northen Theatre’s production of A Midsummer Night's Dream*, and eagerly awaits her graduation this May. * denotes Equity production.
